Spend time in nature.
Even if you are visiting Pumpkin Hollow Hideaway for a few days to just relax and do nothing, there are many great ways to be closer to nature while spending time here. If you don’t mind venturing out of our property a little bit, you can take advantage of the various unmaintained hiking trails that take you through the Daniel Boone National Forest. Driving 30 minutes out of our property will put you in the heart of Slade, KY, the Natural Land Bridge area (make a left onto 713), or the Red River Gorge Park (make a right on 713), which has trails and opportunities for rock climbing.
If you would rather stay on or close to our property, you can take advantage of all 67 acres of it, which spans both sides of Pumpkin Hollow Road. Feel free to explore our property and take in the sights and sounds of the nature around us.
Red River Gorge
Venture off the beaten path.
If interested in doing an approximate three-hour long offroading excursion, you would head back down to our sign, make a turn to the right, and from there complete the medium-rated Pumpkin Hollow Trail and loop around onto the light/medium-rated Spaas Creek Road, putting you back on 713. By then making a left on 713, you will find yourself back onto Pumpkin Hollow and can return to our property.
The two mentioned trails are only a small part of the more than 500 miles of historic county roads, rugged trails, and scenic byways. Each cabin has maps and more information can be found on the DBBB website. We are also only 45 minutes away from Hollerwood Offroad Adventure Park, where you can experience all levels of trails for a daily fee or after purchasing a yearly pass.
